Gin and tonics are hot right now. No one is surprised anymore if a bar has five kinds of gin and/or tonics on shelve. They are the burgers under the cocktails. But with more that 104 gins, no bar in town has such an elaborate gin & tonic’s menu as Ballroom.
Ballroom is located in the hip and happening Witte de Withstraat and has without a doubt the best interior in the neighbourhood, or logo for that matter (it’s a cube with a ball in it, genius).
With its checkered floor, marble tables and hexagon details, Ballroom has a kind of Parisian mid-century feel to it with a modern twist. It’s trendy but wit a cozy atmosphere.
When you take place at one of the tables in this beautiful interior, you get a list of four pages filled with all kinds of gins and tonics. Choose a combination yourself or ask the bartender. No worries there’s also enough choice for the designated drivers, like their homemade caramel sea salt or ginger orange lemonades.
Visit Ballroom when you’re out with friends and want to dance to R. Kelly with cocktails (who doesn’t?) or when you want to enjoy a really good meal, because yes you can have dinner here as well.
I personally am really looking forward to a summer at ballroom. They have this amazing secret garden, which I’m obsessing over because my own garden still looks like a giant sandbox at the moment.
Tip: try the Hendricks gin with Fevertree’s Elder Flower Tonic and rose pedals. A friend introduced me to this combination and it’s my favorite since.
You can find Ballroom at Witte de Withstraat 88b
