A rising neighbourhood in Rotterdam is the Zomerhof quarter. More and more creative business settle here and slowly you see little restaurants, bars and even a beer brewery. One of these bars opened last weekend in the Vijverhofstraat: MONO. Of course we had to try it out.
MONO is a lunchroom and bar that server Rotterdam coffee and beer and Japanese whiskey. A promising combination if you ask me. The interior of MONO feels like you walked into a design studio with cozy seating areas of vintage furniture, a lot of white and enough tables to go ‘flexwerken’ with a whole team.
The bar is big and offers a nice assortment of beers, coffee, whiskey and (virgin) cocktails. When we visited last Friday they had multiple DJ’s playing. This is something I hope they will do every weekend because it makes it the perfect spot for a fun night out with friends.
As of tomorrow they will also start serving lunch so I would say grab your laptop, ditch your boring office and work here with some local coffee and lunch. They open at 10 AM and you won’t have to leave until 1 in the morning. They are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday though.
You can find MONO at Vijverhofstraat 76.
