Hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend! We celebrated a long weekend with brunches and sunny walks, but we started with a great dinner at Thoms. This restaurant and underground bar opened at the end of last year in the Timmerhuis, the latest work of the famous architect Rem Koolhaas and it has been a hit since.
Thoms serves ‘no-nonsense’ dishes like steak, burgers and fries but all deliciously made. We started our evening with an assortment of finger food like shrimps, pork belly and cheese. It was so good and so much that we had a hard time finishing our main dishes after, which were also amazing. Besides good food, Thoms also did a very good job with the interior. With beautiful lamps hanging from the ceiling, a stylish bar and a huge cabinet filled with nice objects, give the place an authentic look.
Thoms is the perfect spot for those typical spontaneous nights where you have a drink after work and end up having drinks, dinner and dancing till the early hours. Because it isn’t only a restaurant, it’s also an underground bar. In the back of the restaurant is a big staircase that goes to the cellar where you’ll find another big bar, candle lit tables, cocktails and DJ’s in the weekend. So whether you want to have a drink, a romantic dinner or a night on the town, Thoms would be a great spot.
You’ll find Thoms on Meent 131, in the Timmerhuis.
